Swedish ceramicist Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) joined the renowned Upsala-Ekeby in the mid-1940s, where she emerged as one of the leading figures in postwar Scandinavian ceramics. In 1953 she created the Somali series—six sculptural forms defined by streamlined, anthropomorphic silhouettes and matte black glazes. Model 2143, the largest of the series, reflects Atterberg’s modern sensibility and her instinctive understanding of proportion and form.

Presented in very good vintage condition. Stamped to the underside with maker’s mark and model number.
