Throughout the website, the terms “we”, “us”, “our” and “Artefact” refer to Artefact.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made through our website.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Vintage and collectible goods
Artefact specialises in vintage furniture, design objects, artworks and other collectible items.
Many of our products are unique, vintage or previously owned. As a result, individual items may show signs of age, use, patina or restoration.
Any relevant condition information, imperfections or visible signs of wear will be described in the product listing where applicable. Customers should carefully review the photographs and product description before purchasing.
The fact that an item is vintage or previously owned does not remove any statutory consumer rights that apply to the purchase.
3. Consumer rights
Artefact sells items originating from private collections and presents them as collectible and vintage objects.
Artefact provides customers with the consumer rights applicable to purchases from a business under Swedish consumer protection legislation.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any mandatory rights that the customer has under applicable law.
Where applicable, Swedish consumer legislation includes rules concerning defects, complaints, the right of withdrawal and refunds.
4. Orders and contracts
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected item.
An order confirmation will be sent to the email address provided at checkout.
A purchase agreement is considered concluded when Artefact has confirmed the order and payment has been accepted, subject to any circumstances that may give Artefact a lawful right to cancel the order.
Because many of our products are unique, an item can only be sold once. If an item becomes unavailable due to an error, technical issue or simultaneous purchase, Artefact will contact the customer and refund any payment made for the unavailable item.
5. Prices
All prices are displayed in Swedish kronor (SEK) unless otherwise stated.
Prices may be changed before an order is placed. The price applicable to the customer is the price displayed at the time the order is placed.
Where applicable, VAT is included in the displayed price.
Shipping costs are shown separately at checkout.
6. Product information and photographs
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, measurements and photographs accurately represent each item.
All measurements provided on the website are approximate. Small variations may occur due to the nature of vintage and handmade objects.
Because of differences between screens, lighting and photographic conditions, colours may appear slightly different from the actual item.
Product photographs may be edited for presentation purposes. This may include adjustments to lighting, colour, contrast, cropping and backgrounds. Such edits are intended to present the product clearly and do not necessarily represent the item’s exact appearance under all lighting conditions.
Our products are vintage, previously owned or collectible items and may show signs of age, use, patina, restoration or other characteristics consistent with their history.
We provide photographs and descriptions to give a fair representation of each item. If you have questions about the condition of an item, or would like to see additional photographs or details before purchasing, please contact us and we will be happy to provide further information or photographs where available.
Customers are encouraged to carefully review the photographs and product description and to contact us with any questions about condition, measurements, materials or other characteristics before placing an order.
7. Payment
Payment is processed through the payment methods made available at checkout.
Payment information is processed securely by our payment service providers. Artefact does not store complete payment card details.
We reserve the right to cancel an order where there is a reasonable basis to suspect payment fraud or other unlawful activity.
8. Shipping
Shipping terms, shipping costs, transport insurance and delivery information are described in our Shipping & Returns policy.
Shipping costs for Sweden and the EU are based on the item’s shipping category.
For destinations outside the EU, shipping is arranged separately and the final shipping cost is confirmed with the customer before shipment.
9. Right of withdrawal
For purchases made remotely, including purchases made through our website, customers generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Swedish law.
The withdrawal period normally begins on the day after the customer receives or collects the item.
Customers do not need to provide a reason for exercising their right of withdrawal.
The customer must notify Artefact within the applicable withdrawal period.
Where required by law, Artefact provides a withdrawal function through the website where the purchase was made.

10. Inspection and diminished value
Customers have the right to examine an item to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and function.
If an item is handled or used beyond what is reasonably necessary for such an examination and this results in a reduction in value, Artefact may make a deduction from the refund corresponding to the actual reduction in value, where permitted by applicable law.
The customer is responsible for returning the item appropriately packed and protected.
11. Returns
Returns are governed by our Shipping & Returns policy.
The customer is responsible for return shipping costs where the return is made under the statutory right of withdrawal, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Items should be returned using the original packaging and packing method, or equivalent packaging providing appropriate protection.
If an item is damaged during return transportation as a result of inadequate packaging or handling by the customer, Artefact may make a deduction corresponding to the resulting loss in value, where permitted by applicable law.
12. Faulty or damaged goods
If an item is faulty, damaged on delivery or otherwise does not conform to the purchase agreement, the customer should contact Artefact.
Customers should provide photographs and a description of the problem where appropriate.
Artefact will assess the matter in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.
If an item is damaged during the original delivery, Artefact will handle the matter with the shipping carrier and, where applicable, the transport insurer.
Customers should not arrange repairs or dispose of packaging before contacting Artefact unless otherwise agreed.
13. Availability and errors
We reserve the right to correct typographical errors, inaccuracies or technical errors on the website.
If a significant error affects the price, description or availability of an item, Artefact may contact the customer to correct the error or, where legally permitted, cancel the affected order and refund any payment made.
14. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including photographs, text, graphics, logos and other material, belongs to Artefact or is used with permission.
Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially used without our prior written permission.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services.

Artefact may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version applicable to a purchase is the version in force when the order was placed, unless otherwise required by law.
22. Governing law and disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Sweden.
Mandatory consumer protection rules applicable to the customer in their country of residence are not excluded where such rules apply.
Any dispute will first be handled directly between the customer and Artefact.
Customers who are consumers may also have the right to seek assistance from the relevant consumer authorities or dispute resolution bodies.
